Weardale WordFest is a community book festival set in the stunning North Pennines landscape of Weardale, County Durham.

We invite all lovers of books and reading to enjoy our free, friendly and informal events. Join us to meet regional authors, to experience the joys of reading and to explore the world of writing for yourself.

The 2024 Weardale Authors’ Book Fair will be on Saturday 3 August, St. Thomas Church Hall, Stanhope, come and meet your favourite writers! We are also planning some really exciting activities for our Children’s Book Day, Sunday 11 August on The Story Train at Stanhope Station, so look out for details about that and, of course the 2024 Weardale WordFest weekend, 25 — 27 October and the WordFest Writing Workshops happening throughout Weardale in the weeks leading up to the festival.
